American Legion action gets underway tonight

The American Legion summer season is reaching the half way point, and at this point in time both teams are just starting to find themselves as teams.
“I think we are finally starting to come around,” 29’ers head coach Darin Desormeaux said. “We are starting to play like a team, and our bats are coming alive, which is a good thing.”
Both the Abbeville 29’ers and Abbeville Eagles played last night, and are back at it again tonight.
The Eagles are going to get the double-header kicked off at 5:30 p.m.
They will be hosting Lafayette.
The Eagles are hoping to turn the season around, but wins and losses aren’t important to head coach Steven Adams.
All he is concerned about is the kids on the team getting better and better each and every game.
The 29’ers will play in the second game of the double-header, and they will be hosting Northside.
Their game is scheduled to start as soon as the Eagles game is concluded.
Both the Eagles and the 29’ers will be playing at Sellers Field at A.A. Comeaux Park.
After these games tonight, both teams will have only eight games left in the American Legion schedule.
