Broussard and Zaunbrecher exchange nuptial vows

Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Kaplan was the setting for the 6:30 p.m. December 10, 2011 ceremony uniting Jill Renee Broussard and Lyle Joseph Zaunbrecher in Holy Matrimony with Father Kendal Faulk officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Terry and Darlene Broussard. She is the granddaughter of Richard and MaryAnn Harrington and Florence Broussard and the late Kenneth Broussard. Jill is a 2004 graduate of Kaplan High School and a graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette where she earned a degree in Kinesiology. She will receive her teaching certificate in Health and PE and Adapted PE in December.

The groom is the son of Joel and Patricia Zaunbrecher. He is the grandson of Patrick and Anita Higginbotham and Richard and June Zaunbrecher. Lyle is a 2004 graduate of Gueydan High School and a 2005 graduate of the St. Martin Parish Police Academy. He is currently employed with the Vermilion Parish Sheriff Office as a detective.

Accompanied down the aisle by her father, the bride wore a white silk taffeta ballgown by the Vineyard Line at Priscilla of Boston. Her tip-of-the-shoulder gown’s ruched bodice gave way to a richly pleated skirt complete with pockets, giving it a modern flare. She carried a hand tied bouquet of white ranunculas, wrapped with a French white double satin ribbon. Her bouquet was also adorned with her great-grandmother’s rosary.

Leigha Briolo, cousin of the bride, served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Amie Magnon and Michelle Broussard cousins of the bride, Hannah Herpin and Lauren David friends of the bride and Draeh LeBlanc, friend of the groom. Junior bridesmaids were Haylie Magnon and Remi Briolo, both cousins of the bride. Serving as flower girl was Natalie Magnon, cousin of the bride.

Justin Zaunbrecher, brother of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Mitchel Broussard, brother of the bride, Elliot Broussard and CJ Belaire friends of the groom, Austin Zaunbrecher, cousin of the groom and Chuck Briolo, cousin of the bride. Ushers were Beau Harrington, cousin of the bride and Richie Humble, cousin of the groom. Serving as ring bearer was Grant Humble, cousin of the groom.

Readers for the ceremony were Amy Broussard, Godmother of the bride and June Zaunbrecher, cousin of the groom. Greeters were Alerie Broussard, cousin of the bride and Shanel Henry, cousin of the groom.

Following the wedding ceremony, a reception was held at the V-Arena Hall in Kaplan.

The couple honeymooned in Jamaica.
