Fr. Jason Vidrine is new pastor at St. Peter Church

Parishioners at St. Peter Catholic Church welcomed Father Jason Vidrine, this past weekend, as he assumed the duties as pastor of the Gueydan church.

Tears of farewell were intermingled with welcome greetings as parishioners bid adieu to out-going pastor Father Mitchell Guidry.

Father Vidrine comes to St. Peter from his home town of Ville Platte. He is the son of James Vidrine and Debbie Blood. He has four sisters and one brother.After graduating from Ba you Chico High School, Father Vidrine studied and graduated in Theology at Pontifical North America College in Rome, Italy.

Father Vidrine is proud of his Cajun culture and the language of his people. He proves that he is a true Cajun and will fit in with all of the rest of the gumbo lovers in Gueydan.

“I am happy to be in Gueydan among the Acadian people, and I hope to bring God’s message and assistance to those in need.”
