Henry Joseph Touchet

Services for Henry Joseph Touchet, 66, were held on Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at 2 p.m. at St. Peter’ Catholic Church in Gueydan, with Father Farley Henry officiating the services. Mr. Touchet died Monday morning at Abrom Kaplan Hospital in Kaplan. He was born in Gueydan, to the late Sidney and Ada Cormier Touchet.

Visitation was held at Matthews & Son Funeral Home in Gueydan, beginning on Tuesday, February 24, from 10 a.m. until time of services on Wednesday. A rosary was recited on Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. He was buried in the Gueydan Cemetery.

Mr. Touchet was a retired tool pusher for work over rigs. He loved to camp and do woodwork.

He also enjoyed playing with his dog, Bandi. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his daughters, Tena Brasseaux and husband, Kenneth, of Rayne, Roxanne Aube and husband, Danny, also of Rayne, and Anela Dominque and husband, Chris, of Erath; three brothers, Irvin and Lloyd Touchet of Gueydan and Lesley Touchet of Abbeville; five sisters, Evelyn Richard, Celestine LaCombe and Rosa Cormier all of Gueydan, Ruby Saltzman of Nunez, and Beatrice Ryder of Morse; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Linus Touchet.
