GUEYDAN - Gueydan—Funeral services will be held Friday, June 19, 2015 at a 3 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Wayne Nicholas Zaunbrecher, 76, who died Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at Lafayette General Medical Center. He will be laid to rest at Gueydan Cemetery with Reverend Corey Campeaux officiating the services. Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons and his nephew, Craig Campbell Guidry. Honorary pallbearers will be his son-in-laws, grandson-in-law, all of his nephews, and his godchildren. Serving as gift bearers will be his granddaughters, granddaughters-in-law, and serving as lector will be Katherine G. Douthitt.
A native of Gueydan, Wayne was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He lived for his family and treasured each and every moment he spent with them. Mr. Zaunbrecher was a rice and cattle farmer who farmed with his brother, Floyd on the family farm. Wayne was an active member in Vermilion Parish Farm Bureau as a Board Member, Louisiana Rice Promotion Board Treasurer, Gueydan Guest Home Board of Directors, and 3rd and 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda Guidry Zaunbrecher of Gueydan; daughters, Alison her husband, Dewey Domingues of Erath; their sons, Tyler Louis and his wife, Brooke, and children Lily Grace, Rosie Kate, Philip Dwayne and his fiancée, Chelsie M. Luquette, Samuel Mark and Matthew Dewey; Andrea her husband, Christopher Herpin of Kaplan; their children, Victoria H. and her husband, Walker B. McDonald II, and their child, William Walker, Michaela Paige, and Christopher Ridge; one brother, Floyd Zaunbrecher and his wife, Cene Mae, of Gueydan; and six sisters, Bertha Breaux, Augusta Bollich, Ramona Petry, Carolyn Guidry, Barbara Leonards and Jacqueline Francois.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Philip Zaunbrecher
and the former Barbara Frey; one son, Dwayne Anthony Zaunbrecher; and four brothers, Raymond, Edmond, Vincent, and Harry Zaunbrecher.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Gueydan, 311 Fourth Street, on Thursday, June 18, 2015 from 1 p.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m.; Friday, June 19, 2015 from 9 a.m. until services.
All funeral arrangements are being conducted by Vincent Funeral Home of Gueydan.
