Tractor Supply donates tools to AHS Ag Program
Abbeville High School’s Ag Department received a nice Easter present this month from Tractor Supply Co. in Abbeville.
The school received $1,800 worth of power tools from Tractor Supply.
The donation was recognized by the Vermilion School Board, recently.
“This is great for the Ag Department,” said School Superintendent Jerome Puyau.
There were a total of 27 different tools donated to the Ag Department.
The School Board was able to look at a list of everything that was donated.
Donated were two hammer drills, two impact wrenches, four grinders, two metal shears, cordless drill, circular saw, a reciprocating saw, 2 circular saws and a cordless drills.
The average price for each item is around $50.
Abbeville Principal Ivy Landry was thrilled to learn about the donation.
“We always appreciate any donation to help our students,” said Landry. “The Ag Department can always use tools to help teach these students how to properly use all types of tools.”
Other schools receiving donations:
• Eaton Park Elementary received $300 donation from the company Mikava Inc. out of Houston. The money will be used in the school’s pre-K classes.
• Gueydan High School received a $500 donation from Exxon Mobile Education Alliance to be used in the departments of math and science.
• The Erath Fourth of July Association made a $1,000 donation through a grant to LeBlanc Elementary School. The money will be used for technology purchased for the library.
