Meaux and Nelson united in Holy Matrimony

On Saturday, March 16, 2013, Ashlyn Nicole Meaux and Christopher Paul Nelson were united in marriage during a 1 p.m. ceremony at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Leroy, Louisiana. Reverend Gregory Simien officiated the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Jerome and Gretchen Meaux of Meaux, Louisiana. She is the granddaughter of Dunice and Janelle Meaux of Meaux as well as Julia Campbell and the late Milton John Campbell of Meaux.

The groom is the son of Paul Nelson and the late Roberta Nelson of Maurice, Louisiana. He is the grandson of Renola Nelson and the late Eldon L. Nelson of Eunice as well as Floyd and Ann Bihm of Eunice.

The bride, escorted by her father and mother, wore a strapless satin gown in ivory which featured a ruched bodice and a beaded sweetheart neckline. A beaded broach decorated the front of the waist which eased into a soft flowing skirt with a chapel train. The back of the gown featured a corset lace-up back. The bride’s ensemble was completed with a fingertip-length veil in ivory.

The bride carried a bouquet of plum lilies and ivory hydrangeas. In the memory of her late grandfather, a wedding decade rosary was attached to her bouquet.

Kelsey Duhon, friend of the bride, served as Maid of Honor, while Shanon Coker, sister of the bride, served as Matron of Honor.

Bridesmaids included Katherine Laster, sister of the groom, Lauren Meaux, sister-in-law of the bride, as well as Heather Touchet, Morgan LaPointe, Katie Thibodeaux, Aimee Duhon, Leah Meaux and Keisha Trantor, all friends of the bride.

Flower girls were Skye Cluse and Kenzie Miller, both godchildren of the groom.

Attendants wore plum-colored full-length satin dresses with one-shouldered bodices accented with fan-style bows. They each carried long-stem plum lilies with ivory hydrangeas.

Johnny Shelvin Jr. served as Best Man.

Groomsmen included Eric Meaux, brother of the bride, Joshua Boudreaux and Cy Boudreaux, cousins of the bride, as well as Walter Broussard, Stephen Broussard, Travis Broussard, Jeremy Broussard, Jeremy Fuselier, Miles Shelvin and Joshua Hebert, all friends of the groom.

Serving as ring bearer was Gavin Coker, nephew of the bride.

Music for the ceremony was provided by organist John Buroker.

Readings were given by Jill Broussard, godmother of the bride, and Angel Bihm, aunt of the groom.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at La Louisiane Banquet Hall in New Iberia, Louisiana.

After a honeymoon to Gatlinburg, Tennessee, the couple plans to reside in Maurice, Louisiana.
