Perry man charged with drugs, firearms possession

Vermilion Narcotics Unit arrests others

According to Sheriff Mike Couvillon, the Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit made the following arrests for narcotics related offenses within the parish.
On Dec. 16, agents with the Sheriff’s Narcotics Division obtained information that a Vermilion Parish man, James Buck (dob 8/13/51) of Perry, was in possession of methamphetamine, illegal prescription pills, numerous drug items, and several weapons. Agents opened an investigation, and as a precaution enlisted the aid of the Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office Special Reaction Team (SRT).
After applying for, and obtaining a search warrant for a residence in Perry, agents had SRT execute the warrant. Once clearing, and securing the residence, SRT turned the home over to the narcotics division for further investigation. Agents located methamphetamine; illegal prescription drugs, drug paraphernalia, numerous weapons, and $1,202 in suspected drug proceed money.
Buck was arrested and charged with possession with the intent to distribute crystal methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of firearms in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance, transactions derived from drug transactions, possession of Xanax, and possession of Adderall.
Several others were arrested at the residence on other crimes.
Jeremy Thomas (dob 4/1/74) of Abbeville, arrested and charged with illegal carrying of a firearm
Kimber Dildy (dob 9/4/86) of New Iberia, arrested and charged with illegal carrying of a weapon, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of Clonazepam, possession of Alprazolam.
Donald Guidry (dob 1/20/60) of Abbeville, arrested and charged with possession of Lortab, possession of firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance.
Sheriff Couvillon would like to applaud the concerned citizens of Vermilion Parish for their awareness and assistance in helping the Sheriff’s Office in fighting the war on illegal drugs.
