DELCAMBRE – Funeral services will be conducted for Mr. Mark Anthony Viator, age 55, at 11:00 am, Thursday, January 7, 2009 at Evangeline Funeral Home of Delcambre. Rev. Donnie Crane, Pastor of Crossing Place Fellowship of Kaplan, will officiate. Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday from 11:00 am until 11:00 pm, and on Thursday from 8:00 am until services.
A native of Abbeville and resident of Erath, Mr. Viator passed away at 8:27 pm Saturday, January 2, 2010 at his residence.
Mark worked with Bayou Shrimp Processors of Delcambre and was a truck driver. Through the years, he made many friends all along the Gulf Coast as he picked up the shrimp for processing.
He was a true outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing, and spending time at his camp in the Atchafalaya Basin. But it was the time spent with his family and friends that he cherished most of all. Mark will be dearly missed, but leaves behind many fond memories with all who knew and loved him.
Mark is survived by his wife of 29 years, Lorna Simon Viator of Erath; his son, Jason Viator and wife Cara of Erath; step son, Marvin Bourque and wife Melissa of Erath; his mother, Gloria Suire Viator; five grandchildren, Victoria Viator, Shawntell Broussard, Trey Renard, Megan Bourque and Brittany Bourque; two sisters, Nancy Prejean and husband Elvin of Abbeville and Judy Abshire and husband Roger of Kaplan; and his brothers, John Viator and wife Debbie of Erath and Paul “Chopper” Viator and wife Angela of Delcambre.
He was preceded
in death by his father, Lloyd J. Viator; a step-daughter, Shawn Bourque Menard; and a grandchild, Courtney Duhon.
Pallbearers will be Jason Viator, Marvin Bourque, John Viator, Chopper Viator, Pepper Martin, Raymond Boudreaux, and Colby Latiolais.
