Maltrait Memorial's Annual bazaar scheduled for weekend of March 21

As you cruise on by the Maltrait Memorial Catholic School’s Annual Spring Bazaar you’ll find good music, delicious food, thrilling rides, games, prizes and family fun. The Spring Bazaar will be a two day event this year, March 21 and 22, and will be held on the school grounds with a great lineup of events and activities scheduled for the whole family to enjoy.
The bazaar opens Friday at 5:30 p.m. and Austin Gaspard will be the DJ until 7:30 p.m. Visit the street fair and enjoy the many rides. From 7:30 - 9:30 p.m., you will be entertained by the great sounds of the Jaryd Lane. And while you are enjoying the music and rides, you can also feast at either boiled crawfish patio or crawfish etouffee dinner. There will be something to please everyone’s taste!
Try your luck at Bingo and win some great prizes. Bingo will be in the school gym on Friday, from 6 - 9 p.m. and Saturday, played from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Also on Saturday, Maltrait will host the annual “Dr. J.J. Camel” Jambalaya Cook Off. The local chefs will prepare their great recipes. Judging will be at 11 a.m. and dinners will be served for a cost of $6 per plate.
Another long standing tradition is our gourmet supper featuring great recipes from the community. Serving will begin at 5p.m. in the school cafeteria.
During the day, Maltrait’s volleyball tournament will be going strong. So get your team together and register today. You can call the school to acquire information.
Austin Gaspard will DJ with great music from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday. The remaining entertainment line up will include, Laura Couvillon from 1 - 2 p.m. and AJ and The Bad Cats from 2 - 4 p.m.. The Paper Jam will entertain you from 4 - 7 p.m. Johnny Guinn and Rue Louisiane will close out the Bazaar from 7 - 10 p.m.
The silent auction items will be on display during the bazaar and the final bids close at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. At 7 p.m., the grand raffle prizes will be drawn. This year’s prizes are: 1st prize - $1,000 cash giveaway donated by Fire and Safety Specialists, 2nd prize - iPad donated by Chad and Valerie Meaux, 3rd prize - $500 cash donated by Craig J. Meaux, CPA, 4th prize – $250 Cash donated by Meaux Lumber Store, 5th Prize – $200 grocery giveaway donated by Simon’s Supermarket, 6th Prize - $100 brocery biveaway donated by Larry’s Super Foods, and 7th Prize - $100 grocery giveaway donated by Piggly Wiggly. Tickets are available at the school office and throughout the weekend.
Everyone is invited to bring their family, friends, and alumni to join in for some great food, lots of fun, music, rides, and games. Other special features at the bazaar include the sweet shop, boutique and spring plants, a Crusader train ride for the children along with Dipping Dots ice cream.
