St. Mary/Vermilion Head Start Program recently held their annual Sweetheart Pageant. The pageant marks the beginning of the recruitment period for the Head Start Program. Mrs. LaDaisha Webber was on hand to crown the winners. Standing left to right are: Myri Delcambre, Jacelynn Balwin (Little Einstein, Erath); Lexi Hancock, Madison Turner (Country Bears, Cow Island); Khyler Butler, Tia’Jhanae Powell (Precious Moments, Abbeville) and Cali Plaisance (Honey Bears, Gueydan). Seated in front are the over-all pageant winners Seth Guillot (Honey Bears) and Zo’wee Morvant (Little Einstein).
Seth Guillot representing Honey Bears Head Start in Gueydan was crowned Little Mr. Vermilion. Little Miss Vermilion was Zo’wee Morvant representing Little Einstein in Erath.
Students at Precious Moments Head Start in Abbeville were treated to a surprise visit from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Leonardo. Shown in the picture with Leonardo are some of the students who received prizes when their names were pulled from the “Doing a Good Job” jar.
