Gueydan Showstoppers win awards

When it comes to dancing, Gueydan’s own Showstoppers Competition Cheer Team are virtually second to none.

Under the direction of Dance Instructor/Owner Becky Gauthier, the team captured several prestigious awards in recent competitions.

While competing in the Spirit Professional’s “Kickin it for Kids” competition in Hammond, the team placed second in their division.

They also won first place and overall at the Spotlight Festival and Spirit Awards in Westlake and first place in Lake Charles at the American Dance/ Drill Team Contest.

These talented, hard working young ladies are currently preparing for their upcoming dance recital to be held in the Gueydan High School auditorium at 2 p.m. on April 18, 2010. All are invited to attend.
