Erath travels to take on winless Eagles

Less than a week after recording their first win in the David Comeaux Era, the Erath Bobcats hit the road to Plaquemines to face St. John.
Erath moved to 1-3 in the young season, after a 21-20 victory over the Franklin Hornets. A strong running game, and defensive stops, led Erath to the victory.
Sophomore running back Elijah Mitchell led the way with 148 yards rushing. An interception late in the fourth quarter by Zach Broussard, along with a sack to end the game, were the deciding factors in the close game.
Erath enters the game 1-3, but the quality of the opponents they have faced so far is superior to that of St. John.
The Eagles enter the game with an 0-4 record, with a 32-8 loss to North Vermilion High School being the most recent result.
St. John has a run-first mentality, and the rushing attack is led by Gavin Landry. In the loss versus North Vermilion, the Eagles rushed for 225 yards, and Landry led the team with 121 yards on nine attempts with a touchdown. Hayden Hemenway was the second leading rusher with 48 yards on six carries.
St. John does not look to throw the ball often, as they threw only one pass in their last contest, despite losing by a large margin.
Erath looks to gain more momentum heading into district play when the games mean more.
The game is tonight at 7 p.m.
