Carol Broussard announces candidacy for mayor of Delcambre

I am pleased to announce my candidacy to continue to serve as your mayor of the town of Delcambre. I have served as mayor for the past 24 years, having guided our community through the recovery of the surge flooding in 2005 associated with Hurricane Rita, the surge flooding in 2008 from Hurricane Ike and now I am ready to lead us through the recovery from the flooding in August, associated with that rainfall event.
I so much love the town of Delcambre, all our citizens and enjoy coming to work each day to serve our great community. The experience I have gained as a Mayor is so valuable to the continued growth and prosperity of Delcambre. I have a record of bringing an unprecedented dollar amount of federal and state grants back to Delcambre. These grants include millions and millions of dollars that have been used towards improving and upgrading our sewer system, water system, gas system, street improvements, along with public buildings and much needed equipment.
I understand how these Agencies operate and in today’s financial climate with federal budgets and state budgets operating in a deficit, Delcambre is still receiving grants to do these projects, thus , allowing us not to have to increase local taxes or user fees, all resulting in allowing our citizens to keep your hard earned money.
This election is somewhat bad timing for me as I am currently recovering from a complete shoulder replacement surgery. The timing of this is not good as I am required, as my doctors say ‘to take it easy’. As a result of this, I am not able to campaign as I have in the past, going door-to-door to visit with you. I hope you will understand this and take my record and accomplishments into consideration when voting this year. I still come to my Office at the Town Hall everyday, so feel free to stop by and visit or call me at 685-4462 as I would love to discuss my plans for the future of Delcambre with everyone.
