Miss Emily Guilbeau becomes Mrs. Benjamin Paul Voitier

Miss Emily Louiza Guilbeau of Abbeville, and Mr. Benjamin Paul Voitier of Lafayette, were joined in holy matrimony during a ceremony held on Saturday, April 23, 2016, at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Abbeville.
Reverend Brian Harrington officiated the 6:30 p.m. ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roger Joseph Guilbeau of Abbeville. Her grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Allen Ray Domingues, Sr., of Abbeville and the late Mr. and Mrs. Roger Joseph Guilbeau, Sr. of Breaux Bridge.
The groom is the son of Mrs. Jacqueline Zaunbrecher Voitier and the late Stephen Conrad Voiter of Church Point. His grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Marshal Robert Voitier of Church Point, La., Steven Charles Zaunbrecher, the late Mrs. Shelby Jean Truax of Elton, La. and Ms. Maxie Dale Zaunbrecher of Elton, La.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Tommy Guidry, organist; violinist, Brett Domingue, cousin of the bride and Brent Babineaux, trumpeter.
For her special day, the bride wore a champagne Demetrios Collections sleeveless, floor length trumpet style gown with a bateau neckline and a long train. The backless gown was adorned with satin covered buttons detailing down the train. The ensemble was completed with a one of a kind, Melissa Bryant, fresh water and pearl satin belt, which added to the design of the dress. Her ivory cathedral length veil was lined with alencon lace. Her Melissa Bryant designer hair piece consisted of fresh water pearls. For jewelry accents, the bride wore her great-grandmother’s heirloom gold cameo bracelet.
Her bouquet was a mixture of ivory and white peonies, garden roses, ranunculus, lisianthus, wendy spray roses and hydrangeas.
Mrs. Amanda Guilbeau Collins and Mrs. Elizabeth Guilbeau Huneau, both sisters of the bride, attended as matrons of honor. Bridesmaids included Abby Shiber, Elizabeth Rountree, Julie Distler, Mallory Domingues and Mary Katherine Voitier. Junior bridesmaids were Emily Elizabeth Collins and Ava Claire Collins, nieces of the bride. The attendants wore designer Jim Hjelm long black dupioni trumpet style silk dresses with halter and belt to accentuate the waistline. Each dress was unique with their own neckline.
They carried bouquets made of ivory and white garden roses, ranunculus, stephanotis, lisianthus, wendy spray roses and hydrangeas.
The flower girl was Penelope Reese Weber, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Blake Weber. She wore an Elizabeth St. John dress with a portrait neckline, high waist, cap sleeves and a silk ball gown skirt with a satin ribbon sash.
The flower girl was escorted by Michael Joseph Huneau and Andrew Alexander Huneau, nephews of the bride.
Joseph Conrad Voitier, brother of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen included Dr. Chase Shumacher, Nicholas Leonards, Sean Hoffpauir, Shane Zaunbrecher, Wayne Zaunbrecher and William Hetzel. They wore Michael Kors designer slim fit black tuxedoes with an ivory shirt and black tie. The ring bearers were Alexander Stephen Voitier, son of Benjamin Paul Voiter and James Guilbeau Collins, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ryan Collins. The groomsmen assisted as the ushers.
The reception, catered by Cafe Jospehine, was held at Magdalen Place in Abbeville immediately following the wedding. The beautiful floral arrangements were designed by Lafayette Florist Root Design. Music was provided by the Tommy Morse Band from Mobile Alabama.
The bride’s cake was a three tiered Chantilly cake with almond butter cream icing adorned with ivory and white peonies.
The groom’s cake was a three tiered milk chocolate doberge cake with chocolate mousse filling adorned with chocolate covered strawberries.
Upon their return from a wedding trip to St. Thomas U.S. Virgin Islands, the couple will be residing in Lafayette.
A rehearsal dinner was held at the Caldwell House in Abbeville, La. on Thursday, April 21. It was hosted by the Voitier and Zaunbrecher family.
