Hoffpauir family plans reunion

The Hoffpauir Family Association Board of Directors met recently to plan the 45th annual family reunion to be held on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 1, 2008, at 10 a.m. at the Indian Bayou Methodist Church with registration beginning at 9:30 a.m.

The focus of this year’s reunion is to honor descendants 90 years of age and over. The board is trying to find as many of these elders of the family as possible and to make this a tradition in addition to the memorial for those who have died during the past year.

Locally, if you have information on the 90 and over descendants, please call Elaine Simon at 783-7268, or send the following information to her about the person: name, address, phone number, age, date of birth, place of birth, names of parents and Hoffpauir grandparents, and a picture, if available. As usual, there will be food available for purchase: barbecued hamburgers, pork jambalaya, and an assortment of sweets.

In addition to musical entertainment, fellowship, food, and business, there will be Hoffpauir souvenirs for sale: mugs with the family crest, mini-flags with the crest, t-shirts, a revised updated CD with both Hoffpauir and Spell family genealogy. The CD’s will be only $10 at the reunion.
