April Broussard - Timothy Griffin exchange vows
In a small intimate setting, April Leigh Broussard and Timothy Michael Griffin were united in holy matrimony at 7 p.m., October 10, 2015 at Keith’s Ballroom with Jonathan Joubert officiating.
Amber H. Granger, childhood friend of the bride, read “Marriage joins two people in the circle of its love” by Edmund O’Neill.
April is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Joseph Broussard, and granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Curtis Broussard and the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lee Broussard, all of Maurice.
Timothy is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David Motes of Lafayette. His grandparents are the late Hazel Duhon and Dalton Thibodeaux and Minerva Griffin.
April was escorted down the spiral staircase by her father looking elegant in a pleated mesh sheath gown with a dazzling beaded illusion neckline, cap sleeves and a keyhole back. The gathered pleats at the waist was accented with an attached sash. A bridal headband of beaded rhinestones completed her ensemble.
April’s wreath style bouquet, created by her godmother Janetta Touchet, was ivory roses and calla lilies. The center of the roses were adorned with a tiny pearl and rhinestone brooch. The entire bouquet was embellished with silver and pearl rosettes surrounded by antique pink hydrangeas and rhinestone brooches. The bottom of the bouquet was highlighted with small purple calla lilies, with stems wrapped in sparkling silver ribbon.
Choosing to wear in their memory, April wore Mom Mom Audrey’s initial ring and Pop Pop Robert’s silver shell tie pin attached to her bouquet. Borrowed, was a rosary bracelet worn by her sister, Ashley, on her wedding day, which was created with roses from Pop Pop Robert’s funeral flowers. April’s new bridal gown and her blue garter completed the traditional bridal theme. A 1986 penny was worn in her shoe for good luck.
The mother of the bride, escorted by her husband, Keith, wore a pewter pleated gown with a long sleeve printed jacket accented with a sparkling brooch.
The mother of the groom, escorted by her son, wore a mercury colored satin gown, lace overlay top with a scalloped edge, and her full skirt was accented with a wraparound rushing belt.
Both mothers’ wore a pink calla lily and rose’s corsage with a brooch as a keepsake.
Maid of honor was April’s childhood friend, Lori Beth Broussard, and matron of honor was Ashley B. Stroder, and Amy B. Duhon, Sarah M. Racca, sisters of the couple. They each wore a knee length dress of their own choice in colors of lavender, dark grey, silver and blush. Each attendant carried wreath styled bouquets of ivory roses embellished with silver and pearl rosettes accented with blush pink tulle, stems were wrapped with blush pink satin ribbon overlaid with a shimmering silver ribbon.
The groom chose for his wedding, a black tuxedo with black shirt and vest with a silver tie with an ivory rose and calla lily boutonniere. Best man was Dave Griffin, brother of the groom. Daniel Motes, brother of the groom and friends Zach Blood and Jordan Prejean were groomsmen, wearing black tuxedos with ivory shirts, silver vest with black/grey striped ties and an ivory and pink tint rose boutonniere. Fathers of the couple were dressed the same as groomsmen with a grey rose boutonniere.
A reception followed the wedding. After their wedding trip, Tim and April will make their home in Youngsville.
