The Ville Platte Municipal Civil Service board, during its meeting Monday, June 30, agreed to present its recently-adopted rules and regulations, including pay scale and job title listings, to the Ville Platte City Council for final approval.

The pay scales and job titles, which have been in development since 2004, according to Secretary Rod LaFleur, included minimal changes. LaFleur said their purpose was mainly to clearly state job titles and their associated pay. For example, the minimum salary for a revenue clerk has been set to $7.76 per hour and gas assistant superintendent has been set to $8.59 per hour.

The board also asked that its chairman, Gene Buller, be present when the city council reviews the rules and regulations so he might answer any questions they have.
