Winter storms postpone basketball games

In the midst of the district schedule, Vermilion Parish basketball teams already have enough on their plate, but now they can add make-up dates to add to the list of things to prepare for.

The winter storms that have blown through much of Southern Louisiana are back once again to wreak havoc on the Vermilion Parish basketball team’s schedule.

The schools have been closed down across Vermilion Parish, and along with that, all the basketball games that were scheduled for tonight are also postponed.

The Abbeville Wildcats were set to face off against Notre Dame. Friday the Wildcats will take on the Kaplan Pirates.

The Erath Bobcats, who are still waiting on a date to make up the Jan. 24, game against Notre Dame, can now add Kaplan to the list of teams that need to make up a game against Erath.

The Bobcats will hopefully get a game in on Friday when they are scheduled to take on West St. Mary.

The Patriots of North Vermilion were set to travel to Baldwin to take on West St. Mary.

The Pats are still scheduled to travel to Crowley on Friday, to take on Notre Dame.

The VC Eagles, who played last night, get a bit of a reprieve as they will not have to travel to take on Ascension Episcopal, thus eliminating games on back-to-back nights for the Eagles.

The Eagles still have a game lined up on Friday against Lafayette Christian in Lafayette.

All of the games as of now do not have make-up games rescheduled.

Check back later this week for those make-up dates.

For the moment, the schedule of games that is set for Friday will still happen as scheduled.
