Three Vermilion Parish teams reach playoffs

Abbeville, North Vermilion, VC will play this week

The road to the Boys’ Top 28 is set and three Vermilion Parish teams are among those set to participate.
The Abbeville Wildcats, North Vermilion Patriots and Vermilion Catholic Eagles have earned spots in the playoffs.
The Louisiana High School Athletic Association released brackets Monday afternoon.
The Wildcats (14-12) are the No. 28 seed in Class 4A. They will travel to Houma later this week to face No. 5 A.J. Ellender (24-7). The winner will face either No. 12 Woodlawn or No. 21 LaGrange.
St. Thomas More, led by head coach and Vermilion Parish native Danny Broussard, is the No. 1 seed in Class 4A. The Cougars are 27-7 this season and will face No. 32 Rayne to open the postseason.
The Patriots (15-11) are No. 30 in Class 3A. They will be on the road against No. 3 St. Louis (22-4).
The Eagles (11-11) are the No. 32 seed in Class 1A. They will make the short trip to Lafayette to face top-seeded Lafayette Christian Academy. Both members of District 7-1A, the two teams met twice this year. Lafayette Christian (28-3) won both games.
