State volleyball pairings announced

Lady Panthers, Patriots begin their quest for a state title

The Louisiana state volleyball playoff pairings have been released, and one of the two area teams host a match this week.
The North Vermilion Patriots (20-17) led by head coach Celie LeBlanc have the opportunity to host their first round matchup versus Patterson High School Thursday evening in the Division III playoffs.
North Vermilion earned the No. 12 seed, which allowed them to host No. 19 Patterson, with a chance to face No. 3 Lutcher High School next Monday. The match is set to start at 6.
Fresh off of receiving an inaugural sportsmanship award, the Delcambre Lady Panthers return to the court as the No. 17 seed traveling to play No. 16 seed, and district foe, Catholic High of New Iberia Thursday at 6 p.m. Catholic High of New Iberia swept the two meetings between the teams, including the last match of the season, which resulted in a 3-0 advantage for Catholic High.
Delcambre did not win a set against CHNI in the two matches this season.
The winner of that matchup will travel to play No.1 seed Pope John Paul II next Monday.
