North Vermilion Lady Patriots beat Erath

ERATH - A 13-run explosion in the third inning led the North Vermilion Lady Patriots (10-0) to a 17-1 win in three innings over the Erath Lady Bobcats at Erath on Tuesday.
It was the first district game for both teams.
The Lady Patriots scored in the third on an error, a two-run double by Cydney Akers, an RBI-double by Hannah Menard, an RBI-single by Shelby Breaux, an error, a two-run triple by Demi Boudreaux, a walk by Claire Meyers, an RBI-triple by Kaylee Lopez, an error, and a two-run double by Breaux.
Akers racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Lady Patriots.
Boudreaux, Amie Vincent, and Shelby Breaux each had two hits for NV.
NVHS had 10 hits while Erath only had one hit.
Breaux shut down Erath while she was on the rubber. Erath managed just one hit off of Breaux, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out five during her three innings of work.
The Lady Patriots easily handled Erath ‘s pitching, as seven hitters combined for nine hits, 14 RBIs and 13 runs scored.
Maci Viator couldn’t get it done in the circle for Erath , taking a loss. She allowed 17 runs in three innings, walked five and struck out none.
The game was never in doubt after the first inning, as the Lady Patriots scored four runs on two doubles and an RBI single by Claire Meyers.
Kylia Benoit had Erath’s only hit with a triple
