Johnson helps Kaplan beat Ascension Catholic

Julius Johnson had a big night running the football for Kaplan on Thursday.
Johnson ran for 295 yards on 36 carries and scored two touchdowns in Kaplan’s 22-7 win over Ascension Catholic.
The Pirates complete the regular season with a 7-3 record and now wait to see who they will play in the first round of the Class 3A playoffs.
Kaplan is expected to be seated No. 7 and will be playing at home in the first round.
Johnson had TD runs of 12 yards and 3 yards.
T.J Broussard also had a big night carrying the football. He rushed for 64 yards on only six carries. He had a 40-yard TD run and Johnson made the two point play.
The Pirates went to the air behind the arm of Jade Herpin. Herpin was four out of six passing for 36 yards.
