Gueydan Honeybears dominate

GUEYDAN - The Gueydan Honeybears cruised to a 57-27 win over Ascension Episcopal in District 7-A action.
Ke’ara Charles and Ahsari Terry combined to score 32 points. They each scored 16.
While they were making their two-point baskets, Nya Boudreaux was having fun making 3-pointers.
Boudreaux, the only senior, made four 3-pointers and finished with 12 points.
Kendra Petry had six and T’Nia Leger made five for Gueydan.
Erin Johnson added two.
Gueydan jumped out to a 17-5 lead after the first period and by halftime, led 24-14.
The Honeybears put the game away outscoring their opponent 33-13 in the second half.
Gueydan is on the road Tuesday against Lafayette Christian, who was off Friday night.

Gueydan boys scored only two points in the first period and never recovered.
Daylon Charles led Gueydan with 14 points. He made six out of seven free throws in the game.
Cade Sonnier had 11 points.
Cotton Woods and Mark Clark each scored two for the Bears.
