Erath Lady Bobcat finish co-champs in district

ERATH - The Erath Lady Bobcats can brag that they are co-champs in District 8-3A.
On Thursday, Erath crushed Patterson, 54-25, to finish 11-1 in district. Erath has the share the title with E.D. White, who is also 11-1 in district.
Each team lost to the other.
“It was one of our goals, to be district champs,” said EHS head coach Andrea Bernard.
On Saturday, Erath and E.D. White played a special game to see which team gets an extra power-point. Normally, the district champ gets the extra power point, but because there is a tie, the two teams had to play one another.
The game was played at a neutral location at Berwick High School.
It was still in progress when the Meridional went to press.
In Thursday’s win, Erath jumped out to a 20-6 first quarter lead and led 34-11 at half time.
Monette Bolden led with 21 points for EHS. Alexis Lege scored 17 and Logan Goutierrez made six, while Ann Marie Frederick scored four. Gabby Harrington, Olivia Blanchard and Chloe Landry each made two points for EHS.
