Erath, Gueydan, DHS fall in week 2

After a scoreless first quarter, Catholic High of New Iberia scored 14 second quarter points and then cruised to a 24-6 win over Erath on Friday.
The Panthers on its first three possessions in the first period fumbled and punted twice .
However, that changed in the second quarter. On their first two possessions in the second quarter, they scored.
The Panthers’ first score was when sophomore quarterback Diallo Landry connected with Jeremy Touchet on a 96-yard touchdown pass. Thomas Garder nailed the extra point to put the Panthers ahead 7-0.
Catholic High came right back and scored again when Seth Pierre ran it into the end zone from 13 yards out.
Catholic High added three points on Garder’s 22-yard field goal.
Down 17-0, Erath got on the score board when quarterback Ben LeBlanc completed an 11-yard pass to Elijah Mitchell for a score.
The extra point was missed.
LeBlanc threw a pick six late in the fourth quarter.
Diallo was 3 of 6 for 139 yards passing. He also rushed for 40 yards.
The Panthers got big yards from Seth Pierre, who had 101 yards on 15 totes.
No Erath player rushed for 100 yards this week.
Mitchell carried nine times for 36 yards. Scott Moore had 69 yards on 11 carries.
Ben ran for 11 times for 22 yards.
Erath is at home against VC this Friday.

DHS.........0
The Hanson Memorial Tigers passed for 128 yards and ran for 103 in its 10-0 win over the Delcambre Panthers on Friday.
The score was 0-0 at halftime.
Hanson scored with four minutes left in the third period on a three yard run.
Delcambre had 94 yards rushing, behind the running of Oliver Nunez, who had 72 yards on 15 carries.

Grand Lake... 14
Gueydan ........12
Grand Lake rushed for 250 yards en route to a 14-12 win over the Gueydan Bears.
The Bears, on the other hand, rushed for 136 yards on 26 carries.
Mark Clark paced Gueydan with 8 carries for 97 yards and he scored a touchdown.
Trevor Ladelle was the next leading carrier with 24 yards on six totes.
The Bears tried to pass the football. Quarterback Randy Lepretre was of 2-of-7 for 8 yards. Anthony Levy had both receptions.
