Abbeville grad speaks to local school
JJ Davenport Jaqwaylon (J.J.) Davenport, a two-sport all-district honoree from Abbeville High School who played basketball the last two years at New Mexico Junior College, and now for Louisiana's Ragin Cajuns, made a special appearance at Eaton Park Elementary, on Friday, Oct. 11,2013. Davenport spoke with the students about making good choices and the disciplines it takes to be a student athlete.
He also spoke about his upbringing on Martin Luther King Dr. right here in Abbeville; it's a place he won't forget. His words were both encouraging and inspiring to the students as they listened and asked plenty of questions.
Davenport 's major is Business Management now at UL and he recieved an associate degree from NMJC in general studies with a concentration in business administration.
