Percy E. Broussard, Sr.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 19, 2015, at an 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Maurice, for Percy E. Broussard, Sr., 101, who passed away on Friday, January 16, 2015 in Maurice.
Entombment will be held in St. Alphonsus Mausoleum in Maurice.
Reverend Michael Sucharski, SVD, Pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Maurice, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services.
Mr. Broussard was a hard working farmer and cattleman for over 50 years, mostly at a slow pace, but always accomplished his goals. He was very dedicated to his garden and furnished vegetables to his family and friends, up until his 99th birthday. His slow pace of performing most of his activities may have had a bearing on his living just shy of 102 years old. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his four daughters, Janelle Comeaux (George Sr.), Loretta B. Montet (Curtis), Fay B. Broussard (Harvey) and Gayle B. Menard (Howard); one son, Percy E. Broussard, Jr. (Jeanie); sixteen grandchildren, Charissa Guillory, George Comeaux Jr., Bennett Comeaux, Vicki Picard, Curt Montet, Mark Montet, David Montet, Lori Mailhes, Damian Dartez, Duane Dartez, Deidre Arceneaux, Darrin Dartez, Emilie Rodriguez, Cory Lavergne, Coy Aultman and Casey Aultman; 30 great grandchildren; and 23 great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 75 years, Neola Aube Broussard; parents, Jules and Anaise Smith Broussard; two brothers, Marc and Lucien Broussard; two half brothers, Hypolite and Elix Benoit; four sisters, Ella Hebert, Eunice Duhon, Mae Comeaux and Beulah Roy; and one half sister, Amelia Sonnier.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Sunday, January 18, 2015 in Delhomme Funeral Home in Maurice, from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 PM on Sunday evening in the funeral home. Visiting hours will continue on Monday from 9:00 AM until the time of service.
Pallbearers and Honorary Pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
