John Gordy LeMaire

January 22, 1942 ~ December 9, 2016

KAPLAN — Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan honoring the life of John Gordy LeMaire, 74 years, who died Friday, December 9, 2016 at his residence. He will be laid to rest at LeMaire Cemetery with Deacon David Vaughn officiating the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Jerald Quebedeaux, Joshua LeMaire, Jacob LeMaire, Douglas LeMaire, Jr., Nathan Fitzgerald, Bryan LeMaire, and Derek Trahan. Honorary pallbearer will be Ian LeMaire-Menard.
John was a graduate of Ernest Broussard High School. He enlisted in the United States Air Force where he was stationed in Germany and France. John retired from the military as Staff Sergeant. After his career in the Air Force, John worked in the Oil Field for Amoco and retired after 24 years. John enjoyed movies and dancing to honky tonk music. He was known to work hard in his trade as an electrician and on his farm. He took great pride and joy spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Leanna Duhon LeMaire of Kaplan; two daughters, Stephanie LeMaire of Kaplan and Kimberly LeMaire-Menard and wife, Mindy of Kaplan; two sisters, Delta L. Quibedeaux of Bunkie and Kirby L. and her husband, Michael Fitzgerald of League City, TX; two brothers, Douglas LeMaire and his wife, Barbara of Scott and Norris LeMaire and his wife, Carrol of Kaplan; four grandchildren, Gabrielle, Aubree, Ian , and Piper; and one great granddog, Elijah.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur LeMaire, Jr. and the former Mildred Lege; one sister, Azalie Jane LeMaire; paternal grandparents, Arthur LeMaire, Sr. and the former Lomire Marceaux; and maternal grandparents, John Alexie Lege and the former Olivia Corner.
The family would like to thank Community Hospice for all the concern and care, especially Beth, Regina, Clarissa, Valarie, Sheila, Toby, Angela, and Zach.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to psp.org/donate.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home of Kaplan - 300 N. Eleazar Ave., Kaplan, LA 70548 on Saturday, December 10, 2016 from 9:00 AM until services.
