Fredrik “Fred” Christiansen III

ABBEVILLE — A celebration of the life of Fredrik “Fred” Christiansen III, 59, will be held Saturday January 18, 2014 at 10:00 AM in David Funeral Home of Abbeville. Visitation will be held Friday January 17, 2014 from 5:00 PM until 8:00PM, and will resume Saturday from 8:00 AM until time of services.
A native of Valier Montana and a resident of Abbeville Fred passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette. He was a member of the Acadiana Symphony Orchestra for 30 plus years, as well as a member of the Lafayette Concert Band, Fred loved riding his motorcycles and kayaking along the Vermilion River, he recently developed a new passion of gardening and buy different types of seeds. Fred was retired from Louisiana Public Broadcasting (LPB) as Director of Engineering.
Survivors include his loving wife Chandra B. Christiansen; his daughter Tessy and her husband Nicholas Gaspard; his granddaughter Hannah Gaspard; his parents Fred and Mary Christiansen; two brothers William “Bill” and his wife Amy Christiansen, and John Christiansen; one sister Thiri Christiansen; and his niece and nephew Hailey and Brandon Christiansen.
In lieu of flowers the family request donation be made to Acadiana Symphony Orchestra are the Lafayette Concert Band.
