Floyd Louis Vincent

May 6, 1932 ~ November 16, 2016

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday November 19, 2016 at St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church in Maurice, honoring the life of Floyd Louis Vincent, 84 years, who died Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at his residence. He will be laid to rest at St. Alphonsus Cemetery.
Floyd was a devoted husband, doting father and grandfather. He was the owner/operator of Vincent’s Doughnut King. He loved serving his customers and visiting with them. He once was an avid bowler, horse trainer and jockey in his younger years. In his free time he enjoyed shooting dice and going to the casino. Before opening the donut shop he worked as a furniture salesman with Lee’s Furniture. The most important thing to Floyd was to live and love life to the fullest.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lurby Richard Vincent; son, Floyd Wade Vincent and his wife Joann of Abbeville; daughter, Tammy Trahan and her husband Ray of Lafayette; granddaughter, Natasha Prejean and her husband Jody of Lafayette; brother, Stanless Vincent of Lafayette; and sisters, Mildred Patin of Lafayette, Mabel Lear of Lafayette, Grace Sonnier of Lafayette and Marion Landry of Breaux Bridge.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gaston Vincent and the former Katie Duhon; and sisters, Mary Mae Calcott and Delta Meche.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles St., on Friday November 18, 2016 from 10:00 AM until 9:00 PM with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 PM; Saturday, November 19, 2016 from 8:00 AM until 10:30 AM when the procession will depart for the church.
Special thanks to Eastridge Nursing Home, Acadian Home Care and Amedisys Hospice for the wonderful care given to Floyd in his final days.
