Florence "Flo" Hollier Broussard

March 4, 1922 ~ November 2, 2013

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 9, 2013 at a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Church for Florence "Flo" Hollier Broussard, 91, who died at her home Saturday, November 2, 2013 on the Feast of All Souls.  
The funeral mass will be conducted by Reverend Kenneth Mayne, Pastor St. Therese of the Child Jesus Church. Pallbearers will be Michael Broussard, Jr., Shannon Hollier, Shane Faucheaux, Carl Toups, Brandon Sonnier, and Stephen Engelbrecht.  Honorary pallbearers will be Karl Hollier, Mickey Broussard, Michael Hollier, Scott Hollier, Rev. Ed McClellan, and Gregory Broussard.  She will be laid to rest at St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery in Abbeville.  
Florence Broussard was married to Warren Edson Broussard.  She was a retired educator and long time member of the Abbeville High faculty. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association. She was a member of the Third Order of Mt. Carmel (Lay Carmelites) Council No. 1906 having professed vows on March 9, 1952. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, received May 1, 1949.  She was a volunteer tour guide for the City of Abbeville for many years. Flo annually lead the rosary prior to daily mass during the months of May and October to honor the Virgin Mary.
Flo is survived by her brother, Karl Hollier of Abbeville; and three generations of nephews and nieces.  
She was preceded in death by her father, Herbert Joseph Hollier, Sr.; mother, Edolie LeBlanc Hollier; husband, Warren Edson Broussard; brother, Herbert Joseph Hollier, Jr. and Francis Horton Hollier; sister, Mattie Hollier Primeaux; and nephew, John Bodemuller Hollier.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Friday, November 8, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Saturday, November 9, 2013 from 8:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. when the procession will depart for the church.
The family wishes to thank Senior Helpers and St. Joseph Hospice for their assistance. A special thank you is expressed to Seci Hollier for her dedication and loving care for Aunt Flo over the past year.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to an educational institution or the Florence Hollier Broussard Charitable Fund in the Community Foundation of Acadiana, 1035 Camellia Boulevard, Suite 100, Lafayette, Louisiana 70508.
