Elaine Touchet Hurst

LAFAYETTE — Losing her battle with cancer on December 1st 2013, Elaine Touchet Hurst will be remembered during a special mass at 10:00 AM on December 4th 2013 at The Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, Located at 914 St. John Street Lafayette, LA. Father Chester Arceneaux will officiate. Friends and family will be gathering immediately after at her residence in Lafayette to celebrate her life.
She was born to the late Lovelace and Olita Touchet, September 11, 1943 in Abbeville, LA. She graduated from Abbeville High school in 1961 and received a Degree in Marketing from the University of Southwestern Louisiana.
Elaine is survived by her only son Jon-David Hurst and wife Jewel, grandson Nickolas James Hurst, 3 brothers David Touchet and wife Kathy, Ronnie Touchet, and Leo Touchet, 3 nieces Tanya Touchet, Danielle Touchet Deangelo, and Rachel Touchet and her much loved dogs China and Lysa
Elaine was a Marketing representative for Atmos Energy for 26 years, A graduate of Leadership Lafayette and served as president of Leadership Lafayette Alumni Association, member of the National Association of Realtors and the Realtor Association of Acadiana, was currently a realtor with Van Eaton and Romero, Former Board member of Acadiana HomeBuilders Association, Acadiana Weavers and Spinners Guild and the Louisiana Craft Guild.
As her last act of generosity she donated her body to science. In lieu of Flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to The Louisiana Craft Guild at San Souci Gallery located at 219 East Vermilion St. Lafayette, LA 70501.
