A gathering of family and friends will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home of Delcambre on Tuesday from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm.  The Rosary will be recited at 2:30 pm.
Douglas was a native and longtime resident of Delcambre, and current resident of Youngsville.  He passed away peacefully, with his family at his side, on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.
He was a 1965 graduate of Delcambre High School, and a graduate of McNeese State University receiving a BA in Education.  After his graduation, he taught and coached in Delcambre.  He then moved on to the oilfield industry, having worked with various oilfield companies such as Kerr McGee, Union Texas Petroleum, Texas Petroleum Investments, and most recently as a consultant with El-Mar.
Douglas was a true outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and skeet shooting.  But it was his family that meant the most to him.  He adsolutely loved his grandchildren, and never missed a baseball game.  He was a dedicated and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.  He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Brenda Renard Miguez of Youngsville; his children, Marie Miguez Delcambre and husband Jude of Broussard, and Billy Mitchell Miguez of New York, NY; his grandsons, whom he adored, Collin St. Cyr Delcambre and Chace Anthony Delcambre; a brother, Don Miguez of Delcambre; and two sisters, Jennifer Miguez white of Maurice and Bonnie Miguez Tharp of Youngsville; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by parents, Eugene “Bobby” Migues and Josephine Derise Miguez.
Serving as pallbearers will be Glenn Crappell, Edrick LeBlanc, Brooks Dartez, Luke White, Ricky Hulin and Brian Renard.  Honorary pallbearers are Dave McHugh, Mike Medine, Brian Martiny and Jerry Hensley.
