Doris “Dot” P. Troinoi-Druetta

Funeral services were held for Doris “Dot” P. Troinoi-Druetta, 90, of Natchez, who passed away Sunday, December 8, 2013 at Glenburney Nursing Home, 10 a.m., Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dan Wynn officiating.
Burial was followed at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation were held from 9 a.m. Wednesday until time of service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Druetta was born July 20, 1923 in Simpson County, the daughter of John Milton Padgett and Ruth Brown Padgett. She graduated from Magee High School in 1940. Dot was a registered nurse, having worked 12 years at Natchez General Hospital, then 17 years at Gueydan Memorial Hospital in Gueydan, before becoming a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist having graduated from Charity Hospital in New Orleans. She worked as CRNA for 20 years before retiring. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Natchez for the past 20 years and the teacher of the Ruth Sunday School class for many years.
She and her daughter Linda were the first mother and daughter to serve as Presidents of the Louisiana Associations of Nurse Anesthetists. Dot was an avid gardener and member of Auburn Garden Club in Natchez, The Eastern Star of Lake Arthur, LA and VFW Auxiliary.
Mrs. Druetta was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Johnny Troino, and two brothers, Delmos Padgett and Harold Padgett.
Survivors include her husband, John D. Druetta, her devoted daughter, Linda Troino of Shreveport, LA; brother: Gary Padgett and wife, Sonja, of Magee; sister in law: Ann Padgett of Greensboro, NC; step son: Jay Druetta and wife, Margaret, of Crystal Springs; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews in North Carolina and Rhode Island, and a host of friends.
Pallbearers were Alton Case, Glenn Harrison, Jerry Geter, Terry Estes, Spencer Stutzman, and Jack Stephens.
Honorary pallbearer will be Ronnie Harper.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Natchez, 150 D’Evereaux Dr., Natchez, MS 39120 or to the Natchez Adams County Humane Society, P.O. Box 549, Natchez, MS 39121-0549.
