Clopha Joseph Ryder

ABBEVILLE — Funeral services for Clopha “C.J.” Ryder will be held at 10:00AM on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 in the David Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Randy Hyde officiating. Visitation will be at the David Funeral Home of Abbeville on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 from 5:00PM until 10:00PM. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00PM,Tuesday, November 19, 2013. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 from 8:00AM until time of service. Burial will follow in the Gueydan Cemetery in Gueydan, Louisiana.
Clopha Ryder died at 12:45PM on Sunday, November 17, 2013 in a Lafayette hospital. Mr. Ryder was a lifelong resident of Abbeville and loved fishing and the outdoors. He was a loving father and grandfather.
He is survived by his former wife, Elizabeth Boudreaux Ryder of Abbeville, his special friend, Nancy Breaux of Abbeville, one son, Nicholas “Nick” Ryder and his wife Cassie of Maurice, one daughter, Erica Ryder of Abbeville, one Grandson, Jace Ryder of Maurice. Four sisters, Jackie Broussard of Kaplan, Roxie Broussard and Shernel Broussard both of Forked Island, and Lucinda Mire of Youngsville, one brother, John Harry Ryder of Abbeville.
Mr. Ryder was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Theresa Marceaux Ryder, and one brother, Lais James “Ricky” Ryder.
Pallbearers will be Colt Ryder, Aaron Ryder, Chris Newman, P.J. Townley, Kelly Ryder, and Lais Ryder, Jr. Honorary Pallbearers will be Randy Broussard and Bradley Broussard.
