Barbara Brice Schexnider

KAPLAN—Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan honoring the life of Barbara Brice Schexnider, 65, who died Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital. She will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend Johnathan Janise officiating the services.
Barbara was employed by Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Southwest Louisiana for 30 years. She enjoyed traveling and spending quality time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Khristie and her husband, Jonathan Jimney of Lake Charles; two grandchildren, Ty and Taylor Soileau of Lake Charles; her longtime companion, Charles Blankenship of Lake Charles; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Raymond Schexnider; her parents, George Brice and the former Jeanne Eula Boudreau; her brother, Damien Brice; and her infant nephew, George Damien Brice.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Friday, January 17, 2014 from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m.; Saturday, January 18, 2014 from 10 a.m. until services.
