Annette G. Thompson
CROWLEY, La. — Annette G. Thompson went home for Christmas the morning of December 19, 2013. Annette joined a host of family and friends in the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ for the greatest Christmas celebration of her life.
Annette was the cofounder of KAJN-FM, the Pioneer Christian Radio Station in southwest Louisiana. The Upper Room Prayer Ministry was her vision. She was a Bible teacher, and never missed an opportunity to share God’s word one on one. Annette was a member of Northside Assembly of God Church. A member of the Gideon Auxiliary. At the time of going home she was the secretary treasurer of Agape Broadcasters, Inc.
Annette was born in Oakdale, LA May 8, 1941 and is survived by her husband, Barry D. Thompson of Crowley; her children, David Thompson and his wife Tammy of Abbeville, Karen T. Bailey and Chip of Baton Rouge, and Craig Thompson and his wife Janet of Crowley. Her beloved grandchildren, Josh Bailey and Jason Bailey of Lafayette, Destin Bailey of Baton Rouge, Ryan Thompson of Abbeville, Brooke Thompson, Johnathan Thompson, and Destiny Joy Thompson all of Crowley, Brandon Dartez of West Monroe, and Brittany Dartez of Abbeville. She was preceded in death by her father, William A Gray; her mother, Bessie Mott; her brother, Woodie Gray; and sisters, Nell Parker, Sarah Marie Gray, and Ellen McCreary.
A Celebration Service is set for Saturday at 2 p.m. at Northside Assembly of God Church in Crowley. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. till time of celebration. Memorial gifts are requested to be directed to The Gideon’s International in care of KAJN Radio P.O. Box 1469 Crowley, LA 70527. Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home of Crowley has been entrusted with the arrangements.
