Alton Paul Moss, Sr.

ERATH – A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Alton Paul Moss, Sr., 91, will be held at 3:30PM on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Fr. Bill Melancon officiating. Interment will follow at our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery.
Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Erath on Thursday, November 12, 2015 from 9:00AM until the time of the services with a recitation of the rosary at 11:00AM.
A native and lifelong resident of Erath, Mr. Moss died at 8:30AM on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at his residence. He proudly served his country in the Navy during World War II and was a successful farmer. He enjoyed hunting, raising sheep, and was an avid card player.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Gladys LeBlanc Moss of Erath; a son, Al Moss, Jr. and his wife Dean of Delcambre; a daughter, Ellen Moss Boudreaux and her husband Donald of Erath; six grandchildren, Brodie Boudreaux, Shawnee Hebert, Jake Boudreaux, Eric Moss, Zachary Moss, and Chelsea Moss; and seven great grandchildren, Lindsay Boudreaux, Brigg Boudreaux, Ali Hebert, Zane Hebert, Nate Hebert, Alina Moss, and Alyssa Moss.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Edia Hulin Moss; a son, Mark Moss; a daughter, Jennifer Moss; a brother, L. J. Moss; and a sister, Dorethea Edwards.
Serving as pallbearers will be Brodie Boudreaux, Jake Boudreaux, Zachary Moss, Eric Moss, Sonny Moss, and Pierre Hebert.
