Marilyn Batiste Landry

ABBEVILLE – A native of Abbeville, LA., Marilyn Batiste Landry, age 57, passed away at her home Friday, September 16, 2016.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, her father, Ray Anthony Landry, her mother, Marilyn Bernard Landry Henderson, and sister Dianna Ray Landry.
She leaves to cherish her sweet memories, one daughter, Kirsten Robin Batiste of Abbeville, LA; one grandson, Keyon Jerell Joseph of Abbeville, LA; a very special and loving friend, Palmer Jenkins; seven (7) brothers, Floyd James Landry, Sr., John Allen Landry of Abbeville, LA; Herbert Rickey Landry of Youngsville, LA; Richard Landry, Sr., and Bradley Bessard both of Abbeville, LA; Ray and Michael Landry of Jennings, LA; four (4) sisters, Pauline Scott Landry of Lafayette, LA; Lillian Landry of Abbeville, LA; Sabrina Malbreaux (Joseph) of Lafayette, LA; and Georgina Landry of Jennings, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Marilyn will be remembered as a bright shining light with a soft spoken voice, and for being a great cook.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 24, 2016 at St. Mary Congregational Church, with the Rev. Kevin M.A. Williams officiating.
There will not be a visitation period due to the family’s request. However, the Landry family would like to extend their gratitude to the hospice staff, her doctor, Todd Greene, and Josephine Landry for their attentiveness and loving care given to our sister during her time of illness.
