Vermilion Parish School Board moving closer to selecting a possible new health insurance company

On Wednesday, a School Board insurance committee meeting has been called to review a report on the responses received as a result of a Request for Proposal (RFP) prepared by the Vermilion Parish School Board.
The School Board prepared an RFP for group health insurance benefits for the policy year beginning May 1, 2016.
Responses to the RFP were due January 29, 2016.
At Wednesday’s meeting, the insurance committee will receive a recap of the proposals received.
The committee will only receive a report at this meeting, no action will be requested.
A follow up insurance committee meeting will be held Monday, Feb. 22, at which time, a recommendation to the full board is expected.
The next day, Tuesday, Feb. 23 at a special board meeting, the full board will consider the committee’s recommendation.
A final decision on the 2016-17 group health insurance program is expected at that meeting.
