Vermilion/Municipal Task Force Agents looking for escaped suspect

According to Vermilion Parish Sheriff Mike Couvillon, and Abbeville Police Chief Tony Hardy, on Tuesday, the Vermilion Municipal Narcotics Task Force made an arrest on X’avier Dyson of Abbeville for drug and weapons charges.
After completing all necessary booking paperwork on Dyson, a transport unit was attempting to bring Dyson to the Vermilion Correctional Facility, when Dyson escaped from the officer.
After an extensive search, agents have regrouped and are speaking to family members, friends and witnesses as to Dyson’s whereabouts.
Dyson’s father has been in contact with agents, and is actively searching for his son in an attempt to have Dyson turn himself in. Dyson is being actively sought for the above mentioned charges along with simple escape.
If anyone comes into contact with Dyson, or may have information on his whereabouts, they are urged to call 893-0871.
Agents would also like to inform anyone who may be giving aid, or shelter to Dyson, if caught doing so, will also face charges. Dyson is no longer considered armed, but if seen do not approach and contact law enforcement.
