Koryn Hawthorne named Grand Marshal of Louisiana Cattle Festival Grand Parade

Will perform Friday on main stage

A familiar face, and voice, will be featured in Abbeville this weekend.
Koryn Hawthorne has been selected as the 2015, 67th Annual Louisiana Cattle Festival Grand Parade Marshal and will ride in the Grand Parade on Saturday, Oct. 10 at 1 p.m.
Hawthorne, an Abbeville native, appeared as a finalist on NBC’s “The Voice” earlier this year.
“It is truly a privilege for the Louisiana Cattle Festival to honor a local girl who is excelling in her musical talent,” Cattle Festival President Francis Plaisance said.
Hawthorne will perform at the Honoree Banquet Thursday evening at Magdalen Place. The banquet begins at 6 p.m. Tickets are available by calling (337) 652-0646.
Hawthorne will also be featured on Friday night on the Main Stage in front of the Vermilion Parish Courthouse in downtown Abbeville, performing in concert from 10:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
“The Cattle Festival is asking the public,” Plaisance said, “to come early and tailgate along the parade route, give Koryn Hawthorne a warm Abbeville welcome, and view what is developing into the largest parade ever.”
