Harridge Peter Boyance

DELCAMBRE – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Harridge Peter Boyance, age 79, at 11:00 am Saturday, August 15, 2015 at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church. Fr. Nathan Comeaux will be the celebrant and conduct the Mass. Mr. Boyance will be laid to rest at Our Lady of the Lake Mausoleum.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at St. Martin de Porres Church, 608 Martin Luther King Drive in Delcambre on Saturday from 9:00 am until time of services.
Harridge Boyance was born February 7, 1936 in Vermilion Parish to the late Clitness Pierre Boyance and the late Edna Chaisson Boyance and passed away peacefully at Windsong Village in Pearland, Texas on Sunday, August 9, 2015 with his family at his side.
Mr. Boyance proudly served his country as a member of the Army Reserves during the Vietnam War. He was a longtime parishioner of St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church and led bible studies in the 1980’s. But most will remember him for the many lives he touched as an Educator in the Louisiana School System for over 40 years. During that time, Mr. Boyance wrote and authored his book Boyance of Bayou Tigre The Invisible Native Historian of Southwestern Acadiana telling of times growing up in the south. He leaves behind many fond memories that will forever be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his children, Ferryl Boyance McClain, Christine Boyance Harrigan, and Fabian Matthias Boyance and wife Annette all of Houston, Texas; and his grandchildren, Trent and Caitlin Boyance, Catherine and James Harrigan, and Brett and Chase McClain.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Kayla Boyance.
Serving as pallbearers will be Trent Boyance, James Harrigan, Mark Boyance, Glen Miguez. Honorary pallbearers are Caitlin Boyance, Catherine Harrigan, Brett and Chase McClain, and Ted Ayo.
