Abbeville Police report scam

On Tuesday, July 21, investigators with the Abbeville Police Department were informed about a phone scam in which an unknown group is telling people that they need to call them back in reference to them owing money to the IRS or they will be placed under arrest.
The phone calls so far are coming out of the Chicago area. The phone call is also a automated recording.
“This is a SCAM!,” Abbeville Police Lt. David Hardy exclaimed. “Please do not call the number back and hang up immediately if you do received this call.”
Once again please do not send anyone money who call and inform you that you will be placed under arrest.
