Cajun Culture Association crowns king and queen

Betty Perkins and Hubert Gaspard were crowned as the 2015 king and queen to represent the Cajun Culture Association at Woodmen of the World Hall in Maurice. The event was held on Saturday, July 11.
The purpose of the Cajun Culture Association is to pursue and promote the Cajun culture and attract tourism in the Acadiana area.
In doing so, the Cajun Culture Association renders financial assistance and makes contributions to:
•The study of Cajun culture.
•Education institution.
•Character building and humanitarian institutions operate on a non-profit basis.
•Advancement of the study of playing of Cajun music by rewarding scholarships.
•The crowning of the annual Cajun Festival with a King and Queen’s pageant.
Meetings are held every second Wednesday of the month at Touchet’s Bar on Highway 16 in Maurice.
