Leajola Lydia Morris
ABBEVILLE – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Leajola Lydia Morris at 12:00 noon Saturday, July 18, 2015 at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Abbeville. Burial will be in the St. Paul Cemetery. Father Greg Cormier will be the celebrant.
Ms. Lydia Morris (79), as she was affectionately known, and was a long time resident of Abbeville passed away Thursday, July 09, 2015 at Abbeville General Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
She leaves to mourn her passing four daughters, Ada Simon of Lake Charles, LA; Zelma Morris (Claude Duncan) of Abbeville, LA; Loyce Willis (Jerome) of Abbeville, LA; and Stella Morris of Sulphur, LA; three sisters, Verna Mae Guidry of Youngsville, LA; Victoria Hopkins, and Lula Decuir (Lloyd) of Lafayette, LA; thirteen grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Adolphe Wilson and Ada Comeaux Wilson; her husband, Dolan “Pete” Morris, her daughter, Virginia Morris Captiville, a son-n-law, Bernard Simon, three sisters, Eunice Johnson, Lula Mae Hopkins, and Lena Simon; two brothers, Vorris Wilson and John Wilson; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be Saturday, July 18, 2015 from 8:00 – 11:30 A.M. at Kinchen Funeral Home.
