Erath Fourth of July gets busy Friday and Saturday

ERATH - Looking for something to do Friday and Saturday in Vermilion Parish?
Erath is the place to be.
Starting at 6 on Friday, the carnival rides will begin and will end at 12:30 a.m.
Abbeville’s own Beau Young Band will perform from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday. Keith Frank will follow at 10 p.m. until midnight.

Big Day Saturday

Starting at 7:30 a.m. until midnight, Erath will be rocking and rolling with activities.

Like to run or do you enjoy watching other people run?

Be at the Erath High football stadium by 7:30 a.m. Saturday for the 15th Annual 5K run and one mile walk.
You can register to run or walk before the race.
The money from the run benefits the Erath High Cross Country Team.

Looking for a place to cool off and possibly get wet?

By 10 a.m. Saturday, the temperature will be slowly climbing to the mid 80s and possibly 90s.
The town invites you to come cool off and watch the annual water fights between parish fire departments, starting at 10 a.m.. It will be held in downtown Erath on Broadway Street.
Carnival rides, which is also open tonight, will open Saturday at 1 p.m. and stay open until midnight.
By 5 p.m. the annual parade will roll through Erath.
Don’t think it is time to go home after the parade. The party has just begun.
Beginning at 7 p.m., you can enjoy a fais do do.
Leroy Thomas and the Zydeco Roadrunners will play from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
When they are finished, 5th Avenue are scheduled to play from 10 p.m. to midnight.
Before 5th Avenue starts playing, the biggest fireworks show in Vermilion Parish will take place in Erath at 9 p.m.
