Abbeville Police arrest suspect allegedly involved in multiple incidents

On Thursday, June 25, the Abbeville Police Department investigated two separate incidents involving the same individual.
In the first incident the individual entered a local business and attempted to steal an electronic notepad. After being confronted, the individual took the electronic tablet, which he had concealed in his pants, handed it to an employee and ran from the store.
After reviewing the video footage, officers were able to identify the suspect.
Shortly after, Abbeville Police responded to a local gas station where an individual used a stolen credit card to make a purchase. After reviewing the video, officers identified the suspect as the same suspect who attempted to steal the electronic tablet.
The credit card was stolen during a vehicle burglary which was being investigated by the Abbeville Police during the morning hours of June 25.
On June 30, investigators with the Abbeville Police located the suspect, who was identified as Donald Duhon, 46, of Abbeville, walking on the 700 block of Alley St. Investigators confronted Duhon who fled on foot. After a short foot chase, Duhon was apprehended on Wabash St. near St. Peter St.
Duhon was found to be in possession of a check book and a Louisiana I.D. card, which was stolen in a vehicle burglary that is being investigated by the Kaplan Police Department.
Duhon was booked into the Vermilion Parish Correctional Center on the following charges: Felony Theft of Goods, (two counts) Possession of Stolen Property, Unauthorized Use of an Access Card, and Resisting an Officer.
Pending further investigation of the burglaries, more charges are pending on Duhon at this time. The Abbeville Police and Kaplan Police Departments are working together with the investigation.
