Half of Erath High grads get rained on

On Thursday night, Erath High principal Marc Turner made the decision - to move Saturday's EHS graduation indoors because of the threat of rain. It was not a popular decision but it turned out to be the right decision.
Ten minutes before the graduates began to head to the gym from the school, the wet stuff began to fall lightly. No problem. It continued to fall lightly, and then it stopped at 7:30 p.m. the time of the graduation was set to begin. The 125 graduates began their 50 yard walk to the gym full of anxious family and friends. The school's teaching staff, leading the walk, successfully reached the gym before the wet stuff arrived.
Then the rain slowly began and then continued to get harder with most of the graduates caught in it.
Some students darted for the gym, while others walked and embraced the moment.
When they made their way into the gym, many EHS seniors were soaked but it did not stop graduation.
